Body-Based Theraputic Counselling

My approach to counselling is relational and somatic, offering space to explore the complexity of what you are navigating at a pace that honours your nervous system and capacity. This work is grounded in presence, deep-listening, collaboration, and emotional attunement. If you are navigating grief and loss of any kind, you are welcome here. Areas of focus may include:

slow living ritual supporting nervous system healing and rest
guided breathwork session supporting emotional release and nervous system regulation

Grief and Loss (personal loss, parts, collective, generational)

slow living ritual supporting nervous system healing and rest

Integration of trauma (personal, ancestral, systemic)

Family Systems Exploration, Relationships and Communication

Chronic or Life-limiting Illness, Self-Inquiry and Identity Shifts

This is not a rushed or prescriptive process. Sessions are shaped by your needs and may include reflection, emotional processing, and gentle somatic awareness.

Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?

My Counselling Approach

Therapeutic Counselling Sessions are rooted in relationship, attunement, and respect for your inner wisdom. Rather than focusing on fixing or pathologizing, we work with what is present—creating space for insight, emotion, and the cultivation of nervous system capacity over time.

Sessions with me are relational, reflective, and embodied. I draw on Bowen Family Systems, Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Transpersonal approaches, creating space to explore patterns in your life, the beliefs that drive them, and new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Our time together is guided by your pace and priorities—you are the primary decision-maker in the direction of therapy. Sessions may include reflective dialogue, somatic awareness, and experiential exercises to deepen insight and resourcing. I invite our time together to be a collaborative process, grounded in curiosity, openness, and a willingness to explore new ways of being.

Why Somatic?

In today’s world — particularly within dominant North American culture — we often move at an unsustainable pace; Francis Weller refers to this as Ascension Culture. Our days are filled with errands, appointments, family responsibilities, work, constant doing….more, more, more. Over time, this can leave us feeling burnt out, disconnected, and overwhelmed.

The counselling I offer invites you to slow down and reconnect with your inherent being-ness.

“Somatic” means relating to the body. In our work together, we intentionally cultivate deeper listening to the cues and wisdom of your body, learning the unique language it speaks.

As you attune to your bodymind and develop greater trust within your system, integration of past and present experience becomes possible. We explore embodiment practices alongside nervous system regulation tools and therapeutic approaches that support greater coherence across mind, body, and spirit.

A somatic approach can be especially supportive in grief work, as grief profoundly impacts the physical body. Within the territory of loss, there is often nothing to fix — and the immensity of that reality can feel overwhelming to the nervous system.

By slowing down and gently noticing how grief lives in the body, learning how to meet it, and gradually building a relationship with it, space opens to metabolize the layered experience of loss.

“Movement is how the body remembers itself. It is how survival shifts into recovery. It is how safety is relearned, one step, one stretch, one breath at a time.”

Jasmin Tzortzakakis Malik, When the Body Whispers: Reclaiming Energy, Balance, and Wellbeing

compassionate space for emotional processing, grief support, and deep inner work

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves… Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”
